Chaos in Syria, journalists right in the thick of it

Do you arses have ANY IDEA how much courage it takes to use one of these?? Bunch of punks...

In Syria, where something is going on that involves some sort of politics or civil unrest or civil war or something, reporters for various TV news stations have bravely continued to stand some miles away from the fighting and talk about it.

In acts of heroism and personal sacrifice – bordering on what BBC anchor Rick Head has described as “the new chivalry” – courageous men and women, issued with kevlar body armour and helmets, have remained at their posts.

Pointing to plumes of smoke in the distance, they shout into microphones above the sound of heavy bombardment and continuous gunfire, which definitely isn’t separately miked for effect in any way at all.

Elderly people still going on about the War

In post-war Britain accomodation like this was hard to come by

40 years ago today Shoichi Yokoi, a Japanese soldier, was found in the jungles of Guam, where he had remained stranded and in hiding since World War II.

He was one of several ‘Japanese Holdouts’, discovered sometimes decades after the war, continuing loyally at their posts in lonely isolation, and probably wanking into their own mouths or something to pass the time.

Ashdown: “Remember me?”

Lord Ashdown has made Nick Clegg look about as statesmanlike as a damp rag in a well-timed intervention relating to the Government’s proposed “benefit cap”.

Ashdown, who stood down from the Lib Dem leadership in order to run Bosnia for five years – Bosnia, for fuck’s sake – suggested that the Government’s plans to arbitrarily limit the benefits to which people are entitled, based on a completely random “cap” the figure for which, £26,000, has been pretty much plucked from thin air, might be “a bit silly”.
